May 18th at Oroville, Washington

We decided to stay an extra day at Oroville, Washington, to try to miss some of the traffic of the BC folks coming south to all the campgrounds here and just across the Border.  Like I said, lots of BC plates in town.  Plus we were invited to a BBQ here at the RV park.  Good food, and got information from some of the people from BC.  The was a day for "taking it easy".  Yeah, right.  The dear Bride said " lets go for a little walk".  So off we went.

It was a very nice trail altho my dear Bride kept to herself just long it was.

River and trail

I think the trail was an old Railroad bed which was pretty easy going.  Only how far were we going?

Company on the trail

We saw another snake that looked like rattlesnake but by the time we got the cameras out it was gone and I didn't feel like going to look for it.  We did keep our eyes and ear open.

Fast water

There were vineyards along the trail also with high fences.

And there were flowers.  Pauline could tell you all about it but to me it was a creamy flower on a bush.

The further we got the faster and depper the river ran.  How far are we going?

Pretty nice summer "cabin" in the canyon

We got to cross the river on this is reconstructed old RR bridge called Girder bridge.

The water is faster and I am getting slower.  Just where are we going anyway?

Well, we finally got to the end of the trail.  This is the Enloe Dam and the muddy spring waterflow is just pouring over it.  Nice sight.

End the trail, all three miles of it and now we got to go back.  Uphill both ways and it is about to get dark.

Racing the sunset...

I beat you
Big deal, I got the keys.
It was a nice hike and the hours of time at the Y paid off.  I was not dead.

The end of a beautiful day.
